Meet the Automated Impression Generator and Nitro
CIVIE has released two AI reporting toolkits that can be used alone or together: the Automated Impression Generator (AIG) and Nitro. Both are part of ASR, CIVIE’s reporting and dictation product, and both run on CIVIE AI, built on the foundation model CIVIE’s in-house team developed for medical terminology and radiology workflows.
The Automated Impression Generator
The AIG turns dictated findings into a draft impression in the radiologist’s own style. It goes beyond transcription: it identifies the key clinical findings, applies the right rules and writes a clear, standardized impression at the end of the report. The radiologist proofreads, edits and signs.
According to the announcement, the AIG:
- drafts the impression automatically once the findings are dictated
- integrates with most voice recognition and reporting products
- works with structured reporting templates
- in real-world use, raised radiologist efficiency by more than 30%
Nitro
Nitro goes further: the radiologist only dictates what’s abnormal. When an anatomic region is normal, they say nothing, and Nitro completes those report fields. Since most regions on most studies are normal, CIVIE reports dictation time falling by as much as 45%.
Radiologists stay in charge
“I’m able to keep my eyes on images at all times and dictate my findings in real time,” said Krishna Das, MD, of Sol Radiology. “Less than three seconds after I finish dictating, I have the completed draft of a template-based report.”
CIVIE CEO Dhruv Chopra was clear about the limits: “These digital tools exist to help the radiologist. It should never be the other way around.”
